What a fabulous and feminine hat!
This one is definitely not for the shy and retiring sort. With a swooping brim made from pleated, wine-colored crinoline, this hat is very fetching indeed and will draw all eyes to you. The crown is blocked from a knotted sinamay straw and accented with a band of luscious magenta silk abaca. And since more is sometimes more, I've accented the gorgeously dramatic brim line with clusters of silk zinnias from NYC-based M&S Schmalberg both on top of the brim and below it, and added a spray of curled coq feathers in shades of pink. Attached to a ribbon-wrapped headband, this hat should fit just about anyone and is very easy to wear. A comb stitched to the underside of the crown adds a bit of extra security.
Perfect for the races, for a summer soirée, for a wedding, or for any occasion where you want to stand out in a crowd and look absolutely amazing!

I'm so glad you asked! Avoid wearing a straw hat in wet weather because it will quickly lose its shape in the rain. You may also find that some dyed straws' colors will run when wet.
Avoid getting fabric trims like silk flowers, ribbon ornaments and veils wet as these can still look droopy even after they dry again.
If a felt hat becomes wet, stuff it loosely with tissue before allowing it to dry. If your felt looks dull or dusty, you can use a bristle brush to brush up the nap again.
To store, stuff your hat loosely with tissue paper to hold its shape, and put it in its hat box away from dust and sunlight. Never hang a hat or keep it on a stand or its shape could become distorted over time.
