Crafted from gorgeous lipstick red velour felt, this perching hat offers glamour in spades with its vintage black silk veiling draped alluringly over one eye. Embellished with a spray of hand-cut feathers, each tipped delicately with a glass bead, wrapped with silk and hand-beaded at the base, I think this hat would be perfect with a black silk wiggle dress and red belt and heels. Ooh la la!
This hat is held on with millinery elastic that goes around the back of your head and which should approximate your hair color. Please specify your hair color in the "notes to seller" box at checkout and I will get back to you with a suggested elastic color.

I like a hat in your shop but would prefer it had a different trim. Can you swap out the trim on an existing hat for me?
In some cases I can do this and in some cases I can't. Please don't hesitate to ask and we can discuss it!
How do I care for and store my new hat?
I'm so glad you asked! Avoid wearing a straw hat in wet weather because it will quickly lose its shape in the rain. You may also find that some dyed straws' colors will run when wet.
Avoid getting fabric trims like silk flowers, ribbon ornaments and veils wet as these can still look droopy even after they dry again.
If a felt hat becomes wet, stuff it loosely with tissue before allowing it to dry. If your felt looks dull or dusty, you can use a bristle brush to brush up the nap again.
To store, stuff your hat loosely with tissue paper to hold its shape, and put it in its hat box away from dust and sunlight. Never hang a hat or keep it on a stand or its shape could become distorted over time.
