An easy-to-wear hat in a classic color combination!
Hand-blocked on a 1920's-era toque block, this hat is close-fitting but soft and comfortable to wear. Made of black velour felt, it will keep you warm in style! This hat has a groove blocked into it that sweeps diagonally up the crown, and I've accented this shape with a generous embellishment of layered, hand-cut petersham ribbon in cream and black.
Blocked on a 22-1/2 inch block, this hat will best fit a women's size medium but you may also be able to wear it comfortably if your head size is a little larger due to its tapered shape. Please message me if you have any questions about sizing. I'm always happy to help you assess!

I like a hat in your shop but would prefer it had a different trim. Can you swap out the trim on an existing hat for me?
In some cases I can do this and in some cases I can't. Please don't hesitate to ask and we can discuss it!
How do I care for and store my new hat?
I'm so glad you asked! Avoid wearing a straw hat in wet weather because it will quickly lose its shape in the rain. You may also find that some dyed straws' colors will run when wet.
Avoid getting fabric trims like silk flowers, ribbon ornaments and veils wet as these can still look droopy even after they dry again.
If a felt hat becomes wet, stuff it loosely with tissue before allowing it to dry. If your felt looks dull or dusty, you can use a bristle brush to brush up the nap again.
To store, stuff your hat loosely with tissue paper to hold its shape, and put it in its hat box away from dust and sunlight. Never hang a hat or keep it on a stand or its shape could become distorted over time.
